Patients with hydrocephalus suffer from an increased pressure inside their head. The brain produces too much cerebral fluid, or it isn’t able to drain off the fluids sufficiently. Researchers at the Fraunhofer IMS in Duisburg (Germany), working jointly with Christoph Miethke GmbH and Aesculap AG have engineered a long-term implant that is able to constantly measure and adjust brain pressure.
