New initiative launched to support surgeons & HCPs in joint replacement surgery

Real Life Tested (RLT) is an initiative in conjunction with leading charity Arthritis Care to support healthcare professionals and patients when discussing joint replacement surgery. RLT contains educational materials and real life testimonials from patients who have undergone joint replacement surgery, including Peter Brown, former captain of the Scottish international rugby team.

A nationwide survey supports the need for more credible tools and resources as it finds that whilst 78% of GPs discuss joint replacement surgery with their osteoarthritis patients, 60% believe they would benefit from receiving additional guidance on how to identify the appropriate patient for specialist consultation.[i]
