Clinical Nurse Leader II, Paediatric Cardiac Theatres in Qatar

Scheduled to open in 2013, the Sidra Medical and Research centre will offer the latest technology and equipment to meet world-class standards in patient care, medical education and biomedical research. There will be a sophisticated clinical and translational research programme, general adult medical and surgical services and specialty care for women and children. The centre will be a teaching venue for medical students at Weill Cornell Medical College - a branch of the prestigious Ivy League university in New York.

The Clinical Nurse Leader will participate in the development of operational plans, standards and policies necessary to ensure optimal clinical performance in Paediatric Cardiac Surgery, including the development and implementation of strategic initiatives. The post holder will have an important role in the recruitment and commissioning processes. As the centre becomes operational the job will of course change to a more operational role.

The successful candidate will be a Registered Nurse with a Master’s degree in Nursing. (Alternatively, a combination of education and experience would be considered.) A post-registration qualification in perioperative nursing would be an advantage as would experience with Joint Commission International Accreditation (JCIA). Experience with design and planning of cardiac hybrid suites and CIS systems build for perioperative services would also be useful.
