Scrub Nurse in Reading

We are currently recruiting an experienced Scrub Nurse for a large, independent healthcare provider in Reading. You will be joining a multi disciplinary team covering a wide variety of procedures including major orthopaedics, general, urology, gynaecology and ophthalmic surgery.

The right candidate for the role will have experience in scrubbing and have the ability to work as a team player. You will either be RGN or ODP qualified and registered with the NMC or HPC. You must have the ability to work to tight deadlines and be flexible and highly motivated in your approach to work. All candidates with scrub experience will be considered.

RCS offers approval for first UK voice-box transplantation

The UK should proceed with trials for laryngeal (voice-box) transplantation to restore power of speech, allow swallowing and improve breathing for the 1,000 people every year in the UK whose larynx is destroyed by trauma or benign or low-grade malignant tumours. This is the finding of a Royal College of Surgeons working group reviewing the ethics, technical evidence and patient services needed for the introduction of the procedure.
